However, the money quote, if you can pardon the phrase, is from Senator Lamar Alexander, Republican of Tennessee. "The Democratic majority decided, well look, while we’re at it, let’s have another Washington takeover...Let’s take over the federal student loan program." One might wonder how the federal government could takeover what is already their own program.
