Losing a Lung in Bend
Yesterday was warm and sunny, so I zipped home early from working downtown and decided to go for a run over to Pilot Butte. There is really just something about Bend, OR that does not agree with my system. When I left the island in March, I was able to run around it twice with a short break in the middle for water at the Community Center. Roughly about an eight mile run. Not saying I was overly fast or that it was particularly easy going, but I was not in bad shape. Heck, I might have even enjoyed it.
Every time I go running in Bend though, it ends with me never desiring to go running here again. Either I get hit by a snowstorm (wasn't it just sunny a minute ago?) or a windstorm (I cannot feel my fingers!) or I just seem unable to get past a certain mental block. Yesterday, it was a mucous overload with some extremely painful lungs. Barely got a mile before I stopped and just spent a good minute cleaning everything out. Of course, being a desert atmosphere I ended up getting dehydrated, which only made my run worse when I tried sprinting around the track at the base of Pilot Butte. The run home was quite pathetic. I should have just walked back but I was stubborn and ended up making my life worse as cramps developed in my abdomen.
No more running in Bend. The weather was decent again today, so I just juggled the soccer ball in the backyard during lunch. Much more enjoyable.

Oddly, no one found my previous entry utterly fascinating and absorbing in any fashion. I tried to keep it lower on the technical side, but I guess that was not enough. Often I wonder that if I talked about my work more here, would more members of the EllisLab communities read and comment here about it. Do I want that? Hm, perhaps not. One of the reasons I stopped posting over on the ExpressionEngine Blog is that I just grew weary of the questions and constant demands from users. Everyone wants something explained or given. Most cannot or will not fully understand half of what I say and plenty more will simply ignore my reasons as it is not want they want to hear.
Of course, most of you have tuned out by this point...
Which obviously means I can finally say what I really mean...
You know, if I thought it was proper...
Nyah!
(Aren't blogs great?!)
