»Link. Created today by me. I think it is time that Atheists stop hiding in the back and start demanding a seat at the table:
Religion is no longer a defining or divisive characteristic of Supreme Court appointees. And yet, there is not a single Atheist on the Court despite a significant portion of America admitting to an absence of belief in any deities.
It is time that Atheists come forward and petition the President to nominate a person who is free of any spiritual affiliation and can make legal decisions without any bias based on the teachings of any God, gods, or deities.

Step One. Increase interest and create a location where people can discuss the topic, invite friends, and hopefully start a movement towards this goal.
Step Two. Write the President and our Representatives to suggest that an Atheist Supreme Court nominee would not only be a good idea but that it would be supported by their constituents.
Step Three. Media. Nothing of this magnitude happens in our political system without significant media exposure and support.
