NY Times | Building With Whole Trees

Link. Check out the slideshow too, it is quite enjoyable to see this kind of architecture and imagine living in it.

Very refreshing concept, and more beautiful than any lick-and-stick mansion.

i know roald gundersen and amelia baxter!  not well, but i know them.  they live in a gorgeous glacial coulee outside my college town.  roald is independently wealthy (the main hospital in town is called gundersen lutheran) and they run the first organic farm in the area.  super cool!  so, you are officially one degree of separation from that architect.  i’ve never seen their house, but man…now i want to.  and have them build me a greenhouse in place of my garage.

Oh lookie. You really ARE blogging again! :)

Nice houses. Like a mixture of the hobbits and Lothlorien.
